# Setup

Connecting takes a minute and only needs to be done once per assistant. You authenticate with your normal Autopilot login, and access is limited to what your account can already see.

The Autopilot MCP endpoint is:

```
https://my.autopilotbrand.com/mcp
```

{% hint style="info" %}
You need an active Autopilot account. During setup you'll be sent to the Autopilot login page to authorize access — the same credentials you use for the portal.
{% endhint %}

## Choose your assistant

Follow the guide for the assistant you use:

* [**Claude Desktop & claude.ai**](/autopilot-mcp/setup/claude.md) — add Autopilot as a custom connector.
* [**Claude Code**](/autopilot-mcp/setup/claude-code.md) — add Autopilot from the command line.
* [**ChatGPT**](/autopilot-mcp/setup/chatgpt.md) — add Autopilot via Developer Mode.

## Using it

Once connected, just ask in plain language and reference Autopilot when helpful:

> *"Using Autopilot, list the top USPs for ASIN B07XYZ1234 in the US and tell me which ones aren't in the title yet."*

See the [Autopilot MCP overview](/autopilot-mcp/autopilot-mcp.md) for everything you can ask.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If your assistant reports it can't reach Autopilot or that authentication expired, reconnect using the steps on its setup page above. Access always uses your current Autopilot session and permissions.
{% endhint %}
