# Ground Truth

Ground Truth shows the facts Autopilot holds about a product. Autopilot gathers the facts behind the listing content, rates how well each one is evidenced, checks them against your own product data, and works with them automatically. Whenever you know something Autopilot doesn't, you can confirm, reject or correct a fact, and Autopilot takes it into account.

Ground Truth is a tab on the [Product Page](/portal-pages/product-page.md).

{% hint style="info" %}
Facts are the foundation for your [Unique Selling Points](/portal-pages/product-page/unique-selling-points.md) and the content Autopilot writes.
{% endhint %}

## What a fact is

A fact is a specific, checkable claim about the product, for example "Carries up to 66 lb" or "Ships with 5 plastic baseballs and a 24-inch bat". Autopilot extracts facts from your listing and customer reviews, and checks them against product data you share with us, such as spec sheets and your brand's product pages.

## Sources in this review

The card at the top of the tab lists the sources the facts on this product draw on:

* **Amazon listing** – the live listing content.
* **Customer reviews** – what reviewers say about the product.
* **Your product data** – each spec sheet, product page or catalog Autopilot has read for this product. Documents you can open are linked.
* **Facts added by your team** – facts entered by hand.

**Know a better source?** Use **Add a source** to tell us about a product page, spec sheet or catalog. The Autopilot team reads it into the facts and gets in touch if anything cannot be shared as a link.

## The facts table

Each row is one fact:

| Column                | Meaning                                                                                                             |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Fact** | The claim itself. A **Contradiction found** flag appears next to it when your product data disputes it. |
| **Confidence** | How well the fact is evidenced by its sources. Hover the badge to see which sources it rests on. |
| **Fact confirmation** | Optional: Confirm, Reject or Correct the fact, or, once it has been confirmed or rejected, the verdict and an undo. |

Facts are listed with contradictions at the top, then the remaining facts from lowest to highest confidence, with rejected facts last.

### Confidence

Confidence reflects how strongly the fact is supported. A fact stated clearly in the listing, echoed by customer reviews and corroborated by a spec sheet carries more confidence than one mentioned once in passing.

| Level               | Color        |
| ------------------- | ------------ |
| Very high, High     | Green        |
| Medium high, Medium | Amber        |
| Low, Very low | Deeper amber |

A confirmed fact always reads **Very high**. Red is reserved for a contradiction with your product data, so a low confidence level is never an alarm on its own.

### Contradictions

When one of your documents states something different from a fact, the fact is flagged **Contradiction found**. Hover the flag to see which source disputes it. Autopilot takes the contradiction into account; if you know which source is right, you can confirm the fact, or reject or correct it.

## Confirming, rejecting and correcting facts

All of these are optional: they add what you know to what Autopilot has found.

* **Confirm** – the fact is true for this product. Autopilot uses it with full confidence.
* **Reject** – the fact is wrong. Autopilot stops using it.
* **Correct** – the fact is close but not quite right. Enter the corrected statement: the original fact is rejected and the corrected one is added as a confirmed fact.
* **Unconfirm / Unreject** – take a decision back. The fact returns to what its evidence says.

Confirm and Reject ask once before they are saved, and every decision can be undone from the same row.

### Confirming several facts at once

Tick the facts you want to confirm and select **Confirm selected**. A review dialog lists the selected facts with their confidence before anything is saved.

### Adding a fact

Select **Add a fact** to enter something you know is true that Autopilot has not found, for example "Ships with 5 plastic baseballs and a 24-inch bat". Facts you add are confirmed straight away.

## Filtering

Use the chips above the table to switch between **All facts**, **Confirmed**, **Contradiction**, **Rejected** and **Unconfirmed** (facts no one has confirmed or rejected), each with its count. The confidence filter narrows the list to a single confidence level.

## Expanding a fact

Click a row to see the detail behind the fact:

* **Sources** – each source the fact draws on and what it says:
  * **Amazon listing** – a summary, and the listing fields the fact was found in (for example Bullet Points).
  * **Customer reviews** – what reviewers say, flagged when the sentiment is negative.
  * **Your documents** – whether each document corroborates or contradicts the fact, with a summary and where in the document it appears.
  * **Manual entry** – for facts added by hand.
  * **Human review** – whether the fact was confirmed or rejected.
* **Impacted Amazon attributes** – the listing attributes the fact affects. A fact without any feeds your product copy and selling points only.

## How facts are used

* **Confirmed facts** are used with full confidence when Autopilot writes your content.
* **Well-evidenced facts** are used without anyone confirming them; weakly evidenced ones are held back until stronger evidence comes in or someone confirms them.
* **Rejected facts** are dropped.

Facts are refreshed as your listing, reviews and product data change. New evidence never overturns a decision you made.
